This is the first Tangerine Dream album to feature their now classic sequencer-driven sound, which later became known as their trademark and of the so called Berlin School genre. R ecorded during November 1973 at The Manor in Shipton-on-Cherwell, England and released in February 1974 on Virgin Records, the album marked the beginning of the group's international success. The title originates from the Greek myth of Phaedra, the daughter of Minos and Ariadne's sister. She committed suicide after her stepson refused her advances.
