The Stepwise Tap™ is a UL-listed Energy Management System (EMS) that installs inline with high-load appliances to prevent service upgrades by managing appliance level demand on 60–200A panels. Tap can be used indoor or outdoors. It offers two modes of control: 1) Dynamic EV Charger Throttling: For compatible EV chargers (Wallbox, Grizzl-E) and vehicles (all Tesla models), Tap dynamically adjusts charging output in real time based on available capacity—acting more like a dimmer switch than an on/off toggle causing hard shutoffs. 2) Load Shedding for All Other Appliances: For water heaters, hot tubs, pool pumps, and other 240V loads, Tap safely shuts off the appliance when usage exceeds safe thresholds, then restores power once capacity is available.
