Tapetum, from the Latin for “rug”, is inspired by the colourful crochet rugs my mom and grandma have been making for years. Ingenious in their simplicity, these rugs are a joyful way to upcycle old yarns and t-shirts. In this design, the transitional crochet-like elements between the neck and yoke and sections of the yoke, are a subtle wink to those beloved rugs. The pullover is knit top-down in the round with a round-yoke construction, boxy body and roomy cuffed sleeves. The design features a simple stranded colourwork pattern, that combines knits and purls and elements of inlay colourwork. Slightly oversized and rustic, it’s an aran-weight winter sweater — a quick and fun knit.
