'Tarmak' is a hybrid of an elegantly glazed ceramic water jar and a basketball. The title is borrowed from the brand on the rubber, a homophone of the tarmac and the street nature of the basketball game. The nuanced and ambiguous character of the work balancing bouncing with hardness, container with content, gloss with wearing, is at the heart of what analogue is. 'Tarmak' asks you to fill the gaps left intentionally during making, it asks you to create a cohesive narrative from the imperfect and contradictory layers. Show more
