Tone-enhancing strokes include a new back bracing profile, a torrefied (specially roasted) top that yields wonderfully aged tonal character, protein glues that optimize the tonal transfer, and an ultra-thin, 3.5-mil gloss finish to enhance the acoustic resonance. Together with a hand-friendly short-scale neck, the 612ce sounds and plays like a dream. A hand-rubbed “Brown Sugar” stain on the back and sides gives maple’s striking figure a beautiful violin-hued appearance.
