Introducing the Roland TD-516 V-Drums electronic drum kit The Roland TD-516 represents the heart of the V-Drums 5 Series—a mid-level powerhouse that blends flagship-grade features with accessible versatility. Designed for drummers who demand refined playability and expressive response, it combines professional digital pads, enhanced dynamics, and the advanced V51 sound module to deliver a truly immersive playing experience. Whether you’re tracking intricate performances in the studio, rehearsing at home, or performing live, the TD-516 offers the sound quality, control, and connectivity of a high-end kit. Digital snare, ride, and hi-hat pads ensure every subtle touch and articulation is captured with precision, while a larger kick pad and premium hardware layout enhance comfort and stability for serious players. Powered by the same advanced sound engine as the flagship V71, and supported by extensive connectivity, coaching tools, and Roland Cloud expansion, the TD-516 strikes the perfect balance between professional performance and everyday practicality. Please note: Pedals, drum sticks and drum throne are not included with this kit. Please see our recommended accessories below! Digital precision and expressive playability At the core of the TD-516’s elevated playing experience are Roland’s industry-leading digital pads. The PD-140DS snare captures every nuance of your performance with positional sensing, seamless cross-stick detection, and natural acoustic feel. The VH-14D digital hi-hats deliver ultra-precise open/closed resolution and touch muting, while the CY-18DR digital ride provides detailed bow, edge, and bell triggering for unmatched expression. Together, these components give the TD-516 an organic, ultra-responsive feel that mirrors the behaviour of a premium acoustic kit. Upgraded pads for natural performance The TD-516 introduces redesigned PD-10P and PD-12P tom pads, featuring chrome hoops and triple-sensor technology that improves dynamic accuracy and eliminates hot spots. The reinforced KD-12 kick pad offers a solid, stable base and a larger 7.5-inch playing surface for realistic rebound and acoustic-style resistance. This upgraded setup ensures consistent feel, comfort, and response across the entire kit. V51 sound module – professional power and flexibility At the heart of the TD-516 is the V51 sound module, delivering the same advanced engine as Roland’s flagship V71. With high-definition samples, deep editing tools, and a wide range of acoustic and electronic kits, it’s a creative hub built for professional performance and production. Customisation is effortless, with assignable pads, sound layering, and seamless integration of additional digital or analogue triggers for expanded setups. Smart connectivity for modern drumming The TD-516 is built to integrate seamlessly with your digital workflow.
