Course Summary: This class may be the most important one of all for students, since the thesis-driven essay is the mainstay of both high school and college essays. Students will be given a variety of essay assignments and their essays will be discussed in class. The aim is what College Board calls “mastery of writing”. You'll write 7 essays, all of which will be discussed in class, and 2 will be corrected and returned to you with comments. This class may be taken multiple times, since the student will be progressing at his/her own pace.
