TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures
TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures Course | Vancouver The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures (ANDP) Course at Diving Sports Canada is the gateway into tru e technical diving. This course trains experienced divers to plan and execute staged decompression dives using high-oxygen gas mixes — safely, methodically, and with full team awareness. ANDP represents the transition from recreational limits into longer, deeper, and more complex dives. This combined course is equivalent to PADI Tec 40 & Tec 45 and forms the foundation for Extended Range, Trimix, wreck, and cave diving. Our Technical Training Mindset: Our first and foremost goal is to develop competent, safe, and independent technical divers who can dive confidently with a similarly certified buddy — without supervision or reliance on a guide. Certifications are earned only when TDI standards and Diving Sports Canada performance standards are met. Course Description: This course refines previously learned diving techniques while introducing new skills specific to technical configurations, decompression theory, gas management, and emergency problem solving. Students will learn to carry and manage multiple decompression gases and conduct staged decompression dives in cold-water environments. Knowledge Development: TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures eLearning and one in-class workshop focused on dive planning, gas management, and equipment configuration. Ocean Training: Four full days of ocean diving (minimum 8 dives), emphasizing buoyancy, propulsion, emergency drills, team protocols, and decompression execution. Maximum Training Depth: 45m / 150ft What You Will Learn: ANDP expands your theoretical knowledge and in-water discipline far beyond recreational training. Topics include decompression theory, dive planning, gas loss management, stress control, extended decompression stops, and team-based emergency procedures. Sidemount or Backmount Configuration: Students may choose to dive sidemount or backmount doubles. Divers must be fully proficient with two primary cylinders prior to the course. If training in sidemount, a Sidemount Diver Specialty certification is required.
