This piece is created using harakeke (flax) harvested from Maketu in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. The whenu has been boiled and dyed (blue) to preserve it. Onepū me te Moana has be en created using the tuakana/teina style of weaving, where the blue whenu sits on top of the natural pieces.
