Although the tea cozy is rumored to have been invented in several countries, the most popular legend comes from Ireland in the 1600’s. During dinner one night, a farmer leaned acro ss his table and his hat fell off landing directly onto his teapot. Later he removed the hat to pour more tea and realized the hat had kept his tea warm.
