How to make hojicha: Tea Quantity: 1 - 2tsp per cup Temperature:100°c Prepare: Whisk until frothy Caffeine:Low Step 1: Add 2 heaped spatulas of hojicha green tea powder to a bowl.Step 2: Fill your kettle with fresh water and boil to 80°C.Step 3: Pour a small amount of boiled water into the bowl (around 50ml).Step 4: Using your matcha whisk, begin whisking in a "W" or "M" motion, until frothy.Step 5: (Iced) Fill your glass with ice and oatmilk (3/4 full) then add a teaspoon of syrup and stir (optional, pairs well with maple). Pour the whisked hojicha over the top for an ombre effect.Step 5: (Hot) Pour the whisked hojicha into a mug and stir in your syrup of choice into the hojicha tea base. Then heat the milk (warm but not boiling) and froth using a milk frother. Then pour the steamed milk slowly onto the hojicha.Try adding hojicha to smoothies, milkshakes and desserts.
