This teapot and its matching cup are inspired by classical Japanese ceramic aesthetics. It is slab-built while the surface pattern is hand-carved inspired by Kurinuki technique. Da rk clay edges shines through the porcelain layer and matte off-white glaze, to give the piece a corroded and rough look. A sanded branch found in a forest near The Hague sits humbly as a handle.
