We have long needed a companion to the very popular Cuppaz – here it is - though I had a few design dilemmas with this one! Teapots come in all shapes and sizes and I had ideas for quite a few. My decision was to keep them contained within a square....if I had chosen a traditionally rounded teapot the blocks would have been rectangular and therefore harder to join together as a top. Techniques are of the usual Stargazey easy cutting and stitching variety, giving each block its crooked individuality. Every piece is cut simply from a square or rectangle. Teapotz can be made in three block sizes; 6”, 8” and 10” to tie in with the Cuppaz proportions. In my sample I have used all three sizes in a medallion setting, but for my next teapotz foray I will definitely combine them with my Cuppaz pattern!
