eTechnora Leash Rope 5mm (3/16 inch approx) (32 Plait and 12 Strand Braided Renegade started to make Kevlar Wick in the early 1980's to replace asbestos wicks, used to make jugglin g torches. The 32 Plait cannot be woven, the 12 strand braided can be woven into a leash loop. The 12 strand (right side, photo) is much softer than the 32 Plait which has a firmer feel Technora is another kind of aramid fiber, like Kevlar and Nomex, but has a higer temperature rating 930 F with loss of strength at 500 F. Much higher rating than Kevlar. Technora Rope is used to make leashes for fire darts, fire meteor, fire snakes and other fire props. One of the most common uses for Technora is to make the leash to a monkey fist fire poi head. This rope cannot ber used as wicking it will not absorb fuel.
