Teeling X Notre Dame Small Batch 2026 750ML is a limited edition Irish blended whiskey bottled at 46% ABV in a collectible 750mL package. Built on the Double Gold–winning Teeling Small Batch expression — honored at both the San Francisco and Singapore Spirits Competitions — this release pairs one of Dublin's most distinctive modern whiskeys with Notre Dame branding for a 2026 commemorative bottling.Quick Facts: ABV: 46% | Origin: Dublin, Ireland | Blended Irish Whiskey | Distillery: Teeling WhiskeyProduction & HeritageTeeling Whiskey was founded by Jack and Stephen Teeling in Dublin's historic Liberties district, becoming the first new whiskey distillery in the Irish capital in over 125 years. The Small Batch expression uses a mashbill of roughly one-third malt whiskey to two-thirds grain whiskey, all triple-distilled. Hand-selected casks of grain and malt whiskey are fully aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then married together in Central American rum casks for up to 12 months — a finishing choice that was notably unconventional for the Irish whiskey category when it launched. The whiskey is bottled non-chill filtered at 46% ABV, preserving oils and texture that standard chill filtration strips away. The 2026 Notre Dame edition features collectible packaging built on this same core liquid.Tasting NotesAroma: Floral and herbal notes arrive first, followed by vanilla and rum-soaked raisin. A creamy undertone carries hints of allspice and ripe orchard fruit layered over toasted oak.Taste: The entry is soft and sweet — caramel candy and brown sugar lead into dried apricot and rum raisin at mid-palate. As the whiskey opens up, warm cinnamon, clove, and oak spice build through the peak, balanced by a persistent molasses sweetness that never turns cloying.Finish: Long and warming, with oak tannins and baking spice lingering well after each sip. A final thread of vanilla and dried fruit sweetness holds steady through the close. How to Drink Teeling Small BatchAt 46% and non-chill filtered, this whiskey rewards neat sipping — a few drops of water open the rum cask influence further without diluting the texture. It also performs exceptionally well in cocktails where its sweetness and spice can anchor the drink. Irish Old Fashioned: The rum cask character adds caramel depth that plays well against bitters and citrus peel. Whiskey Sour: Dried fruit and vanilla notes hold their own against fresh lemon, creating a rounder, more complex sour. Hot Toddy: The natural warmth, molasses, and baking spice make it a natural fit for a cold-weather classic with honey and lemon. Best For Notre Dame alumni and fans looking for a collectible whiskey with genuine quality inside Irish whiskey drinkers seeking a rum cask-finished alternative to standard sherry or bourbon-finished blends Gifting a sports enthusiast who also appreciates craft spirits Building a limited edition Irish whiskey collection Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does Teeling Small Batch taste like? Teeling Small Batch delivers vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit sweetness balanced by warm cinnamon and oak spice, with a rum raisin character from its Central American rum cask finish. The finish is long, warm, and spice-driven.How does Teeling Small Batch compare to Bushmills Black Bush? Both sit in a similar quality tier of premium Irish blends, but Teeling's rum cask finish gives it a distinctly sweeter, more tropical dried-fruit profile compared to Black Bush's sherry cask richness. Teeling is also bottled at a higher 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered, resulting in a fuller body and more oily texture. Is Teeling Small Batch good for sipping neat? Yes — the 46% ABV and non-chill filtered bottling preserve enough body and complexity for straight sipping. A small splash of water further unlocks the rum cask sweetness without flattening the whiskey.Where is Teeling Small Batch made? Teeling Small Batch is produced at the Teeling Whiskey Distillery in the Liberties district of Dublin, Ireland. The distillery was the first new whiskey distillery to open in Dublin in over 125 years. What foods pair well with Teeling Small Batch? Dark chocolate truffles complement the rum raisin and caramel notes. Glazed pork belly mirrors the brown sugar sweetness. Aged cheddar contrasts the spice with savory richness. Banana bread or sticky toffee pudding echo the vanilla and dried fruit character. Smoked salmon works well against the oak and herbal undertones. What sizes does Teeling Small Batch come in? This Notre Dame 2026 limited edition is available in a standard 750mL bottle. Is Teeling Small Batch worth the price? Teeling Small Batch positions as a premium Irish blended whiskey, sitting above entry-level blends like standard Jameson but remaining accessible relative to single malt or single pot still bottlings. The rum cask finish, higher proof, and non-chill filtration deliver measurably more complexity than most whiskeys at this tier. Why Teeling Small Batch? The rum cask finishing sets this whiskey apart from nearly every other Irish blend on the market — most competitors lean on sherry or port casks, making Teeling's Central American rum barrel approach a genuine outlier. Earning Double Gold medals at both the San Francisco and Singapore Spirits Competitions confirms that the unconventional method works. At 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, the liquid retains a weight and oil content that standard 40% chill-filtered Irish blends simply cannot match. The 2026 Notre Dame edition wraps that proven liquid in collectible packaging without compromising what earned the expression its reputation.
