Tembo was originally part of the Marginal notes exhibition held by Note design studio collective as a creative stunt. The concept was to produce in real life the various doodles an d 'marginal notes' that the members of the group had in their notebook, however crazy they might be. Tembo is a sculptural stool that combines a wood metal body with a solid cork seat. The designers drew their inspiration both from the African tam-tams -Tembo means elephant coot in swahili - and give a nod to the Memphis group of the 80s aesthetics. Show more
