Templeton Rye Maple Cask is the first release in Templeton's Barrel Finish Series — straight rye whiskey finished in barrels seasoned with Vermont maple syrup, bottled at 92 proof. In collaboration with Wood's Vermont Syrup Company (125 years of maple syrup-making), maple syrup was filled into 80 ex-Templeton Rye barrels and left to soak the staves for two months. The emptied barrels were then filled with Templeton Straight Rye for a further two-month maturation, the maple-soaked wood lending elegant dark chocolate notes to the spicier rye. A limited release.
