LNG filling stations, cryogenic pipeline systems, liquid nitrogen bulk supply operations, and industrial gas facilities present a different class of cryogenic hazard than laborator y work — higher volume exposures, rougher surfaces, heavier mechanical demands, and regulatory environments that require both CE and UKCA certification for compliant PPE. TempShield CRYO-LNG™ Gloves are engineered specifically for these industrial and heavy-use cryogenic environments. Where standard cryogenic gloves protect against incidental contact, CRYO-LNG™ adds an abrasion-resistant palm fabric that holds up to repeated contact with rough industrial surfaces — metal fittings, pipe flanges, dewar hardware, and filling station equipment — without compromising the 100% GORE-TEX waterproof liner or the −196°C thermal rating. Dual-certified CE and UKCA, rated for cryogenic liquid exposure, and built for the conditions where TempShield's laboratory-grade lines are simply not designed to operate. Available in Midarm and Elbow lengths; Blue (B- prefix, industrial specification) and Brown; Medium through XXL. Features and Benefits Abrasion-resistant palm fabric — purpose-built for industrial cryogenic surfaces — standard cryogenic glove outer fabrics are not designed for repeated contact with metal pipe fittings, valve hardware, rough dewar surfaces, and industrial filling station components; the abrasion-resistant palm fabric in CRYO-LNG™ resists the surface degradation that shortens glove life and compromises protection in high-contact industrial environments CE and UKCA dual certification — the only TempShield glove with both marks — CE certification (EN 511, EN 388, EN ISO 4120) satisfies EU PPE Directive requirements; UKCA certification satisfies Great Britain post-Brexit PPE regulations; the dual certification makes CRYO-LNG™ the appropriate choice for facilities operating under both regulatory frameworks, including multinational industrial gas and LNG operations 100% seamless GORE-TEX waterproof liner — rated for open cryogenic liquid exposure — identical GORE-TEX construction to the laboratory Waterproof CRYO-GLOVES® and CRYO-GRIP® lines; liquid nitrogen and LNG splash protection is integral to the CRYO-LNG™ design because open-vessel liquid exposure is expected, not incidental, in the target applications Rated to −196°C (−320°F) — covers both LNG (−162°C) and liquid nitrogen temperatures — LNG operates at approximately −162°C at atmospheric pressure; liquid nitrogen at −196°C; CRYO-LNG™'s −196°C thermal rating covers both cryogenic liquid types without requiring separate gloves for dual-cryogen industrial facilities Midarm and Elbow lengths — sized for industrial dewar and filling station work — Wrist length is not offered because industrial LNG and bulk LN2 operations typically require forearm and elbow coverage as a minimum; Midarm for valve operation and small dewar filling; Elbow for large dewar filling, pipeline connections, and extended-reach operations over open cryogenic vessels Blue (B- prefix) and Brown — two color configurations for facility management — Blue (B-CL prefix SKUs) is the industrial specification variant; Brown (CL prefix, no B-) is the standard variant; both carry identical certifications and specifications; color distinction supports facility PPE tracking and visual confirmation of glove type in multi-glove industrial environments Multi-layered construction maintains flexibility under industrial conditions — thicker insulating construction than laboratory cryogenic gloves without sacrificing the flexibility needed to operate valves, connect fittings, and manipulate filling station hardware; the moisture-wicking inner lining manages perspiration during physically demanding industrial cryogenic work Specifications Property Midarm — Blue Midarm — Brown Elbow — Blue Elbow — Brown SKU Series B-CLML / B-CLMM / B-CLMX / B-CLMXXWP CLML / CLMM / CLMX / CLMXXwp B-CLEL / B-CLEM / B-CLEX / B-CLEXXwp CLEL / CLEM / CLEX / CLEXXwp Brand TempShield Temperature Rating −196°C (−320°F) Waterproof Liner 100% GORE-TEX — seamless, breathable Palm Construction Abrasion-resistant palm fabric Material Multi-layered insulating fabric with GORE-TEX liner and abrasion-resistant palm Colors Blue (industrial) Brown (standard) Blue (industrial) Brown (standard) Sizes Available Medium, Large, XL, XXL (no Small) Certifications CE + UKCA: EN 511, EN 388, EN ISO 4120 Applications LNG dispensing, cryogenic pipeline, bulk LN2 supply, industrial gas facilities Quantity 1 Pair Country of Origin United States Weight 1.0–2.0 lb/pair 1.0–2.0 lb/pair 2.0 lb/pair 2.0 lb/pair Laboratory Applications LNG Filling Station Operations — refueling LNG vehicles, filling portable LNG containers, and operating LNG dispensing equipment at automotive and industrial filling stations; the abrasion-resistant palm handles the rough hardware contact inherent to filling station operations while GORE-TEX protects against LNG splash at −162°C Bulk Liquid Nitrogen Supply & Distribution — filling bulk LN2 storage tanks from transport dewars, operating large-volume LN2 dispensing manifolds, and servicing bulk LN2 supply systems in research campuses and industrial facilities; the higher thermal and mechanical demands of bulk transfer operations justify the heavier CRYO-LNG™ construction over laboratory-grade gloves Cryogenic Pipeline & Valve Maintenance — connecting and disconnecting cryogenic transfer lines, operating manual valves on cryogenic distribution systems, and performing maintenance on insulated cryogenic piping; repeated contact with metal flanges, threaded fittings, and insulation jacketing under the abrasion-resistant palm's target conditions LNG Transportation & Loading Operations — marine and road tanker LNG loading operations, LNG bunkering, and intermodal LNG container handling where CE and UKCA certification are required by facility safety management systems and port authority regulations Industrial Gas Facility Operations — Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon Cryogenic Handling — air separation plant operations involving liquid oxygen (−183°C), liquid nitrogen (−196°C), and liquid argon (−186°C) where industrial-duty gloves with dual CE/UKCA certification are required by facility health and safety policies Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between CRYO-LNG™ and the laboratory Waterproof CRYO-GLOVES® — which do I need? The key differences are: (1) abrasion-resistant palm — CRYO-LNG™ adds this specifically for industrial surface contact; (2) UKCA certification — CRYO-LNG™ carries both CE and UKCA; laboratory waterproof gloves are CE only; (3) application scope — CRYO-LNG™ is designed for industrial gas operations, LNG facilities, and bulk cryogenic supply work; the laboratory waterproof gloves are designed for research lab LN2 dispensing and open-vessel sample work. If your application is a laboratory, hospital, or research facility, the Waterproof CRYO-GLOVES® are the appropriate choice. If your application is an industrial gas facility, LNG filling station, or bulk cryogenic distribution operation, CRYO-LNG™ is the correct product. Why is Small size not available in CRYO-LNG™?CRYO-LNG™ is designed for industrial environments where the physical demands of the work — valve operation, pipe fitting, dewar handling — are not compatible with Small-size gloves in practice. TempShield offers the Midarm and Elbow lengths in Medium through XXL to cover the working population in industrial cryogenic operations. For Small-size cryogenic protection needs in industrial environments, consult TempShield directly for custom sizing options. What is the difference between Blue (B- prefix) and Brown CRYO-LNG™ gloves?Blue (B-CL prefix SKUs) is the industrial specification variant of CRYO-LNG™; Brown (CL prefix, no B-) is the standard variant. Both carry identical CE + UKCA certifications, identical temperature ratings, identical GORE-TEX liner construction, and identical abrasion-resistant palm fabric. The color distinction is provided for facility PPE management — many industrial facilities assign glove colors by task, area, or certification level to ensure workers are using the correct PPE at each station. Specifications and performance are equivalent. Are CRYO-LNG™ gloves appropriate for liquid oxygen (LOX) handling?CRYO-LNG™ gloves provide thermal protection to −196°C, which covers liquid oxygen temperatures (−183°C). However, working with liquid oxygen requires additional PPE considerations beyond cold protection — specifically, fabric contamination with LOX creates a severe fire and explosion risk. Consult your facility safety management system and the glove manufacturer before using any fabric cryogenic glove in liquid oxygen service. In LOX environments, the primary PPE hazard is ignition risk, not cold exposure alone. Quality Assurance TempShield CRYO-LNG™ Gloves are manufactured in the United States and independently certified to CE and UKCA standards under EN 511, EN 388, and EN ISO 4120. The GORE-TEX waterproof liner undergoes seam-integrity testing during production. Abrasion-resistant palm fabric adhesion and durability are tested as part of production quality control. CRYO-LNG™ carries the most comprehensive certification profile in the TempShield cryogenic glove line, supporting regulatory compliance in both EU and Great Britain industrial safety regulatory frameworks.
