True strength lies in being soft. TENDER is hand-coiled from coarse black clay, built slowly ring by ring. Each coil is added with patience, while the form is kept upright and comp osed throughout the process. It is repetitive, careful work — reflecting the idea at the heart of the series: that choosing softness, again and again, takes its own kind of discipline. The outside remains rough, dark and unglazed. Inside, a transparent glaze reveals the warmer brown beneath the black clay. What appears hard from the outside holds something softer within. TENDER is about the strength it takes to remain kind — to yourself and to others — without becoming hardened by the world around you. Softness is not the absence of strength. It is a form of it.
