A 1920s Khamseh rug from Fars, south west Persia, It shows the typical rows of linked medallions surrounded by exuberant dense detailing. Geometricised florets mingle with multi co loured chickens and other animals, surrounded by barber pole outer borders. Dark blue with rich red, orange, yellow, green, chestnut. A rich and characterful rug. All wool construction. Small repairs, a small patch of wear to the base at one end and slight losses to ends but overall good condition. 211 x 157cm Show more
