Working side-by-side with a highly skilled artist as your instructor, you will assist in creating a beautiful blown-glass terrarium. Going an extra step beyond the standard ornament shape, participants will use gravity to help form a teardrop shape. The items are finished by adding a fixed hook to the top. Here’s how it works: Come into the hot shop and the instructor will explain each step Assist the instructor as they gather and shape the molten glass. With the instructor’s guidance, you’ll assist in shaping the piece using the foot pedal to inflate it with air. (For health and safety, we currently use an air system instead of blowing directly into the pipe.) Finally, watch your orb get reheated, finished, and placed into the kiln to cool overnight. Once your glorious glass terrarium has cooled, you can return on any subsequent Saturday from 1PM to 3PM to pick it up and take it home to plant with micro-greens, small succulents, or air plants. A garden that defies gravity! $85 + tax per terrarium 1 hr class max 4 per class no experience necessary must be 15 years or older Please note: molten glass needs to cool down slowly overnight in a controlled oven. You will be able to pick up your glass item on any subsequent Saturday between 1PM and 3PM.
