NEW IN BOX RARE Danbury Mint Test Market I Love Lucy Plate In 2003 the Danbury Mint launched a test market campaign for this I Love Lucy collector plate in the coupon section of Sunday newspapers in a few select cities throughout the US. The initial response for this plate in those cities was not enough for the Danbury Mint to move forward with a nationwide campaign. As a result, the Danbury Mint manufactured just enough plates to fulfill the initial orders from the test market cities and quickly and quietly retired this tribute plate. This rare collectible measures 12" in diameter and features over a dozen different images from I Love Lucy. The plate is trimmed in 23 karat gold and was originally packaged with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity with a serial number that matches the back of the plate. The original certificate of authenticity is included. The The plate is packaged in the original styrofoam shipping box from the Danbury Mint along with the original wooden plate stand that accompanied the plate. There have been many "I Love Lucy" collector plates issued throughout the years. This 2003 Danbury Mint edition is the most scarce.
