Texas Early Grano is a Vidalia-type onion that produces sweet, white bulbs with tawny yellow skins. A longtime favorite throughout central and south Texas, the Texas Early Grano onion excels in the warm climates of the southern and western United States. It is a short-day variety and will produce the largest bulbs (reportedly up to 1lb each) when grown in climates south of the 35th parallel, however we've even had success growing them here in Iowa (at the 42nd parallel), where the bulbs reached up to 3" in diameter. We suspect they would do just fine for anyone south of the Mason-Dixon. The white bulbs have a very mild, sweet flavor that makes them well-suited for salads and fresh eating. They also work well in any recipe that calls for Vidalia's or yellow onions. Stores up to 4 months. Short day. 100-110 days to maturity. Each packet contains a minimum of 100 seeds.
