Greenville hosted the Southern Trade Exposition in rented warehouses in 1915 but the event was such a success for the town that a permanent space was built. (Old) Textile Hall, built in 1917 specifically for the Southern Trade Exposition, stood on W. Washington St. neighboring St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
