In this issue, sound and noise draw routes into a breadth of themes from pop, love, and performance through to motion and political action. The pieces we’ve decided to publish this time coalesce around a sense of connection in sound and music. Even if they’re often mediated by glass and metal and silicon, what makes these moments important is the act of connection at the end of the pipe. It’s you, tuning into a protest chant or gazing longingly into someone’s eyes or suddenly re-interpreting the history of something you took for granted. You will do all of this (and more) by the time you’ve read to the final page.
