Dislocation Cone - zinc-plated steel cone that seats inside the top coil of the front spring, forming part of the front coil spring location. When dampers longer than standard are fitted, the front spring can unseat at full droop and may fail to locate correctly on its perch as the suspension compresses again. The cone presents a tapered surface for the spring to slide back down, so it re-seats squarely every time. One side of the cone is scalloped to clear the damper body, preventing the damper from rubbing against the cone through the travel of the suspension.
