Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum Young plants begin with simpler foliage, then develop the broad, deeply cut leaves seen on mature plants. A full leaf can reach about 75–120 cm, whil e the supporting leaf stalk may extend 70–150 cm. The stem becomes thick and marked by old leaf scars, with strong roots emerging from older sections of the stem.
