A mixed starting point for people who want to understand tinned fish without throwing darts at the shelf. The Beginner’s Mix Box includes a rotating selection of approachable tins across a few different styles, usually built around sardines, mackerel or tuna, something lightly smoked or seasoned, and one additional tin that shows another side of conservas. It is meant to give you useful points of comparison: oil-packed fish, richer fish, milder fish, and fish packed in different sauces. Serve these one tin at a time with crackers, bread or rice.
