A matched pair of antique Swedish plates by Rörstrand in the Birgitta pattern. Dense floral transferware — roses and wildflowers in a deep blue-violet — across a creamy ground, wit h a scalloped, scrolled rim. The darker, aubergine-leaning blue reads beautifully as a pair. Maker: Rörstrand, Sweden (backstamped). Pattern: Birgitta.Material: flint earthenware, transfer-printed.Era: turn of the century, c. 1900–1920.Condition: very good for its age — a complete pair, no chips or cracks. One plate has mild tea-staining; both carry the fine all-over craquelure of old glaze (age, not damage).Measurements (each): diameter approx. 23 cm / 9.1 in.
