This edition includes an epistle to the reader, commendatory verses to Izaak Walton, a life of Walton by Charles Cotton, a Life of Charles Cotton, Esq. by J. H., Walton's 1653 discourse on rivers, ponds, fish, and the art of fishing, and Cotton's second part on fly-fishing, notes, and an index. Izaak Walton (1593-1683) was an English writer and biographer. Charles Cotton (1630-1687), a poet and essayist, was Walton's friend and contributed the second part on fly-fishing in upland rivers.
