a talk given by Adi Da Samraj July 11, 1982 Adi Da uses the phase "Cosmic Mandala" as a reference to the totality of the conditionally manifested cosmos. This totality can be seen as a pattern of concentric circular bands of distinct colors, experienced in moments when bodily consciousness is lost - such as in deep meditation and in the death-process. In this historic talk, Adi Da Samraj explains that even if we are drawn "into the light" at death, there will not be the capability to remain in such a sublime condition unless - through access to Spiritual Wisdom and Grace and through real ego-transcending practice in life - we have become responsible for the mechanism of attention and are thereby able (by means of Divine Grace) to Abide in and as the "Bright" Divine Self-Condition. Understand your condition of existence and the mechanics of your own attention, and become devoted to a practice of life that will enable you to become responsible for attention - so that (while alive, and in the midst of uncommon states, and after death) you will have the ability to locate attention in its Source.
