Something in this place is trying to make them doubt each other. That frightens Ella more than anything else. The forest has led Ella and Wolfie into a mist-thick realm where spirits move through walls, voices whisper their names, and a king sits alone counting coins that were never meant to be counted. No one will tell them what happens when he reaches the end. Every step deeper into the mist draws Ella and Wolfie further into a web of old bargains and half-truths. The voices know what they fear. They know what to whisper. And they know exactly where the fragile new edges between Ella and Wolfie lie. After everything that has changed between them, there is one thing Ella has never doubted. Wolfie. Now something here wants her to. To find their way out, they must hold on to each other through the whispers, the darkness, and the terrible quiet when the counting stops. The Counting King is the seventh book in The Changeling and the Wolf, a dark fairytale adventure where every coin has a price — and some things cost far more than gold. Ebook Version
