“And at that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His chosen together from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other end.” Matthew 24:30-31Our burden in “The Crowning Day is Coming” is to offer these hymns on the Lord’s second coming with the prayer and hope that these hymns would cause us all to realize that the Lord’s coming is nearer than ever before. Therefore, we should consecrate ourselves to Him and be ready for His coming. He is coming as a thief (Matthew 24:43-44), so we must grow in life and become “precious material” for Him to take us. He is also coming as our bridegroom (John 3:29; Revelation 19:7) and so we must love Him with all our heart (Mark 12:30) and be built up together and knit together in love as His corporate bride, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing (Eph. 5:27) by being sanctified through the washing of the water in the Word. Surely the day indeed approaches, Jesus soon is coming! These hymns were recorded in Jerusalem, the city to which the Lord will return. By watching and praying we are expecting and hastening the coming day. May we pay the price to buy the oil of the Spirit today, lest we be found short of oil when the cry goes out, Behold your Bridegroom! (Matt. 25:6.).“Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord comes.” “For this reason you also be ready, because at an hour when you do not expect it, the Son of Man is coming.” Matthew 24:42, 44
