Released on September 17, 1990, Never Enough is a key transitionary single that showcased a shift toward a more aggressive, guitar-driven sound for the British gothic rock band The Cure. Coming off the massive success of their album Disintegration, lead vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith collaborated with longtime producer Mark Saunders to create a track that famously incorporated a "wah-wah" guitar style, departing from the synth-heavy atmosphere of their previous work.
