Size:65 x 41 in. "The Dark Awoken" by Simon Kenny is a breathtaking 60" x 36" painting that immerses the viewer in a cosmic explosion of colour and light. The composition radiates energy, with vibrant hues of deep blues, purples, and fiery reds converging in a dramatic burst at the centre. The swirling forms and intense brushstrokes create a sense of movement, as if an immense force is awakening from the depths, pushing its way through the darkness. The interplay of light and shadow in the painting evokes a feeling of both creation and destruction, capturing the raw power of a cosmic event. Hints of bright white and electric blue add contrast, suggesting lightning-like flashes or celestial explosions, which illuminate the darker edges of the piece. "The Dark Awoken" embodies the dynamic essence of Kenny’s ‘lyrical abstraction’ style, inviting the viewer to connect personally with its vibrant display of energy and to interpret the imagery as a reflection of both inner and outer worlds awakening.
