Giulia Neri is an Italian illustrator and former psychologist working from a small village in the Dolomites, whose work has hung in the Galleria Farnesina at Italy's Ministry of Fo reign Affairs since 2022. Two birds, facing each other in flight against a flat teal ground. One is a sparrow - feathers, warmth, the particular brown of a real thing that has flown through real weather. The other is origami: white paper, sharp folds, angular and precise. They are about to meet. Their beaks nearly touch. The date. Number one in Giulia Neri's series - the image where it all began.
