Doak Walker became one of the greatest collegiate players in history, winning the 1947 Maxwell Award, 1948 Heisman Trophy and being inducted into the College Football H all of Fame (1959). In his sophomore season, Doak led Southern Methodist to the 1947 SWC championship and was named an All-American.
