BRIAN GRIMWOOD - Framed Art Brian Grimwood studied Art in south London from the age of 13 with David Bowie and Peter Frampton. At 16 he gained experience by working in design studios and within a few years was commissioning illustrators, typographers and designers. Peter Blake described him as “changing the course of British illustration”, both through his own work and by founding the internationally renowned CIA (Central Illustration Agency over 40 years ago, which now represents over 80 illustrators. Brian’s fluid, colourful and expressive work has been exhibited widely in galleries throughout both the UK and globally, including The Portland Gallery and The Royal Academy summer exhibition. Working with clients as diverse as the New York Times, Faber & Faber, Radio Times, Johnnie Walker, the BBC, Sony, George Harrison and The Beatles, Grimwood’s emotive and idiosyncratic style has earned plaudits from around the globe, whether implemented through traditional painting and drawings or with an embrace of modern techniques.
