Most animals have strong senses of smell or hearing, but we humans are blessed with impeccable sight. Our eyes have a very special architecture that allows us to absorb more information than most other creatures. This print explains that architecture in the simplest and most beautiful way possible. Some things I learned along the way:The "Zonules" (Also called suspensory ligaments) that attach to the lens inevitably degrade over time. That's why literally everyone over the age of 70 has a hard time reading up-close. ABOUT THE IDEAInformation is more fun to read when it's beautiful. I've designed these charts and maps with hours of research, reassembling data into a brain-friendly aesthetic. I edit the information significantly, avoiding the "dazzle" effect which occurs when our eyes are battered with too much information. Letterpress makes it even more gorgeous. All letterpress prints are slammed with 600 pounds of pressure, creating a deep, tactile texture. The ink gets embedded into the thick soft paper so it won't fade within your lifetime.
