The Feeling Wheel is a tool designed to help you identify and articulate your feelings by organising them into categories. It consists of three concentric layers: Core Feelings At the centre of the wheel are six core feelings: joyful, powerful, peaceful, sad, mad, and scared. Secondary Feelings The next layer provides more nuanced feelings, such as excited or bored. Tertiary Feelings The outermost layer offers specific feelings, like confident or sceptical, giving deeper insight into your mood. The feeling wheel can help you identify specific feelings and emotions in any given moment, allowing you to acknowledge and address them effectively. By directly reflecting on your emotions, you can use the wheel throughout the day to explore what you’re feeling. For example, after an enjoyable conversation, you might notice a general sense of joy. The wheel can help you dive deeper by asking: What kind of joy am I experiencing? Is it best described as excitement, creativity, or delight?
