New Spanish cedar humidors benefit from a seasoning process before first use — lightly wiping the interior with distilled water and leaving a Boveda 84% pack inside for 24–48 hours brings the wood to proper humidity. This prevents the cedar from pulling moisture away from your cigars initially. Boveda has a detailed guide on this process. Does it come with Boveda packs?No. The Boveda-ready drawer is sized for packs, but packs are sold separately. You’ll need to source the RH level appropriate for your cigars (typically 65% or 69% for most long-term storage). What’s the ideal RH for cigars?Most cigar enthusiasts store at 65–69% relative humidity. The built-in hygrometer tells you your current RH so you can adjust accordingly.
