Capturing the subject in a vivid and charming manner, The Lovers is a passionate statue that depicts the exchange of youthful ardour between a young couple who clearly only have eyes for each other. The male is an heroic figure clasping his lover, whose hair tumbles over her bare shoulders. She in turn embraces his naked body clutching it against her own semi-clad figure in a tender expression of desire. Standing 150cm (4ft 11ins) high, this is an impressive piece of sculpture from Borderstone that will prove to be an imposing presence in any landscape. It is constructed from high quality reconstituted stone with every fine detail accurately reproduced by British craftsmen. Used as a centrepiece or to create a focal point, there will be no lack of interest in a thought provoking statue that exudes sensuality and proves that there is nothing more enchanting than young love.
