Yes. The Steam Machine runs a laptop-derived RDNA 3 GPU roughly equivalent to a Radeon RX 7600M, held to a strict power and thermal budget to keep it quiet in a living room. The RTX 3070 8GB, Black (Refurbished) in this build is a full desktop graphics card, with a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU that outpaces the Steam Machine's mobile-class chip in most games. You'll see noticeably higher, more consistent frame rates at 1080p, including in Call of Duty. 📦 Is this graphics card new or used? The RTX 3070 8GB, Black (Refurbished) in this build is a used card, sourced from a trusted supplier and covered by warranty. This keeps the price down without compromising on the performance you're getting. 🧳 How portable is it really? The chassis includes a built-in carry handle and is genuinely compact, making it easy to move between a desk setup and a TV in the living room, just like the Steam Machine. 🔧 Can I upgrade this down the line? There's genuine headroom on storage and memory: the case includes a spare drive bay for an additional SSD, and the motherboard supports up to 32GB of RAM if you want to double up down the line. This is an AM4 platform though, which is now a mature and cost-effective ecosystem rather than the latest generation, so CPU upgrade options are more limited than on newer platforms, and the compact case will also cap the size of any future GPU. 🖥️ What resolution and games is this built for? This build is optimised for 1080p gaming, with Call of Duty specifically in mind. The RTX 3070 8GB, Black (Refurbished)'s 8GB of VRAM handles 1080p comfortably, though it isn't intended as a 1440p or 4K machine. Built by hand, tested before it leaves us, and shipped fully insured next working day.
