Expect wonderfully complex and intoxicating aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and tuberose, leading to hints of mint, rose and orange rind, on a bed of vanilla oak and baltic amber.The Bouquet:Top Notes: Black Currant, Raspberry,Tuberose, FigMiddle Notes: Mint, Rose, Orange Rind, Fresh TobaccoBase Notes: Vanilla Oak, Baltic Amber The Wine: Château Castelbruck, ‘Cuvée Bruyères’, Margaux Château Castelbruck is the second wine of Château Haut Breton Larigaudière, a 15 hectare Margaux estate between Soussans and Arsac bought by the current owners, the Schepper family, in the 60s. Soils are a combination of deep gravel, sand and clay. After a cold maceration, fermentation takes place in both concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in oak, 25% new, for 12 months followed by a further 8 months in stainless steel vats. The estate is HVE certified and managed sustainably. It is robust and savoury with complex blackcurrant, plum and herbal characters, supple tannins and a long, rich finish. This has the generous style of the 2015 vintage and is already very appealing.
