Published in 1972 and continuously in print since then, The Massage Book introduced Swedish massage to American culture. Today, as alternative treatments are being discovered by mainstream health plans, massage is still going strong. She is the author of The Back Rub Book; Getting Clear: Body Work for Women; Moon, Moon; The Basic Back Book; co-author of Feminism as Therapy; and illustrator of The Massage Book. Rush was on the training staffs of Alyssum Center and of Esalen Institute in California, was a partner in Moon Books, and has taught in the U. S. and Europe.
