FAQ Does the Microblade lock?Yes. The Microblade has a locking mechanism. The Henry and Samla in the WESN lineup do not lock — they are a slip-joint and friction folder respectively. If a locking blade matters to you, the Microblade and Allman are your options. What is D2 steel?A high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel — the same steel used in industrial cutting dies and presses. Harder than most budget stainless steels, holds a sharper edge longer. It’s not fully stainless (higher carbon content than 440C), so clean and dry it after exposure to moisture. Under normal EDC use it performs very well. What’s the difference between Titanium and G10 handle options?Titanium handles are Grade 5 titanium — lightweight, strong, and develop a natural patina with carry. G10 handles are fiberglass composite — more grip texture, available in more colors (Mustard, OD Green, Violet, etc.), and $10 less. Same D2 blade and ceramic bearings on all versions. Can I carry the Microblade on a plane? No. The TSA prohibits all knives in carry-on bags regardless of blade length. Pack it in checked luggage for travel. How do I sharpen it?Use a fine whetstone or ceramic rod at approximately 20 degrees per side. Avoid power grinding wheels — that will void the warranty. WESN also sells a sharpener specifically designed for their knives.
