The tourbillon mechanism—the centerpiece of the Orbitron—is rooted in horological history. The original tourbillon was conceived and developed by Abraham-Louis Breguet, a pioneering Swiss-French watchmaker, and patented in 1801 to mitigate positional timing errors caused by gravity in pocket watches. Breguet implemented the device into his own timepieces under the Breguet brand, establishing the tourbillon as one of the most important complications in fine watchmaking. At the core of Orbitron is a true rotating tourbillon assembly, constructed to counteract positional timing errors through constant motion. The cage rotates continuously, driven by a traditional gear train and regulated by a balance wheel and escapement, offering a clear demonstration of classical horological engineering.
