Giuseppe Castiglione , Italian 1688-176624 x 15.5 , FramedHand Colored Reproduction Giuseppe Castiglione, 1688-1766, was an Italian Jesuit Brother who served most of his life as a Missionary in China during the three Qing Emperors, in the Imperial Court.. His artistic painting style is a fusion of European and Chinese traditions. He was commissioned by the Court to design a series of Western-Style Palaces, unfortunately none of the 18th C.
