Writing the How-to Paragraph uses the FNTF formula (First, Next, Then, Finally ) to introduce students to basic, four-sentence paragraph writing. From there, students learn how to expand their paragraphs with more details and eventually write multi-paragraph essays. Throughout, they are given practice with editing marks, encouraged to use graphic organizers, and provided with ample opportunities to practice new skills.
