The Pious, 2020 Acrylic, latex, spray paint, colored pencil on wood panels. Hang ready. 40x26 In Plato's "Euthyphro", Socrates attempts to determine what makes something good or pi ous. Euthyphro struggles to answer the famous question, "Is something loved by the Gods because it is pious or is something pious because it is loved by the Gods?" Some 2000 years after the question is asked and somehow it seems more relevant than ever. We changed "loved" to likes and replaced the "Gods" with ourselves.
